The Bed And Breakfast Experience

“The Bed and Breakfast Experience” describes the differences offered by bed and breakfasts compared to hotels. Essentially you enjoy the amenities of a hotel with added personal touches. Someone once described a bed and breakfast as the next best thing to staying with friends. You are even greeted by name! There are no “cookie-cutter” aspects to a stay in a bed and breakfast — each home is as individual as its owners.

There’s somewhere for everyone to stay: you can choose from a downtown heritage home, waterfront guest house, country manor house, elegant inn, country cottage, contemporary home, farm or a woodland retreat.

The B&B is typically a private residence whose owners choose to have this business lifestyle because they enjoy meeting people. A high level of service with an attention to detailed is almost guaranteed; after all, their livelihood depends on it. Some welcome families, others pets, whilst others are adult oriented. Your hosts gladly provide insights into the areas tourist attractions and activities, restaurant recommendations as well as tips and local secrets. The inclusive breakfast has local produce, fresh jams, delicious baked goods and mouth-watering specialties.

Many bed and breakfasts are in attractive older homes oozing charm furnished by antiques, while others offer modern crisp elegance and contemporary art. Luxuriate in fine linens on a comfortable bed, soak in a two-person bubbling whirlpool bathtub and snuggle up in armchairs to enjoy the ambience of a fireplace — just the place for a romantic or quiet break. Beautiful gardens are often a feature too for quiet relaxation. Smaller boutique hotels are now incorporating some of the successful qualities of bed and breakfasts into their renovations.

If this is to be your first bed and breakfast experience it very likely will not be your last.

The city has many parks and trails beside the Rocky Mountains, making the city a famous destination. With the mountains close to Colorado Springs, it has gained fame for its rock formations and other ecological features.

Top Romantic Vacations in Canada

Though Canada is known for its large share of deep winter freeze, it is also among the most popular places with spectacular natural vistas. It is also one of the most sought after honeymoon destinations, because of the sensual delight associated with cities such as Quebec City, Vancouver, and Niagara Falls.

Those who assume that Canada is just another version of the USA, are greatly mistaken. The country’s wild northern frontier has successfully etched itself into the national psyche. Its distinct patchwork comprising different people has shaped a country that is decidedly distinguishing from its neighbor.

Canada’s three-dimensional character edging between the nation’s indigenous tradition, and that of a mix of British and French traditions, make it both remarkable and complex. This, together with a plethora of traditions brought by the migrants and by the continuous infusion of US culture, make up for the nation’s multicultural society.

Romantic Vacation in Quebec City

Quebec City offers a blend of aristocracy and the charm of Montreal, and is easily accessible from Montreal. Visitors can travel to Quebec City either by road (takes two hours and a half) or take a plane or train, all of which are comfortable. This city with its backdrop a distinct European charm, makes the perfect setting for a romantic interlude in the winter, lighting or rekindling the flames of love in hearts.

Romantic Vacation in Vancouver

Vancouver with its fresh ocean air, green mountains, variety of eateries and accommodation facilities, and abundant recreation is simply great for romantic vacations. The most unique aspect of Vancouver is its location, surrounded by spectacular natural beauty. Besides breathtaking sceneries, the city offers great sports such as golfing, hiking, skiing, and sailing to its visitors. One can drive down to Whistler easily, within an hour and a half, and a ferry to Victoria takes only a 30 km trip southwards. There is plenty to enjoy in beautiful and romantic Vancouver.

Romantic Getaway to Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls is renowned as the honeymoon capital of the world with its dramatic views and scenic tunnels. The first thing to do on a romantic Niagara Falls getaway is to focus on the falls themselves. This is where the romance and magic lives. It is not possible to describe the feeling of wonder that comes over you when standing on the “Maid of the Mist” boat and seeing all that water cascading over the falls, and no there is better way of seeing it than with the person you love. It truly is an unforgettable experience and romantic way to start your getaway.

Apart from the great natural wonder of the falls, the Niagara area also has tons of restaurants and hotels. There are shows and casinos to keep you busy not to mention lots of scenic trails and even day trips where you can visit some of Ontario’s major wine regions. Close by is the beautiful quaint town of Niagara on the Lake. If you still need more to do, there is always the IMAX theatre where you will be hanging onto your seat, and a host of additional museums and Niagara Falls exhibits to meander through.

Crystal Beach Ontario Cottage Rentals — Accomodations for Romantic Getaways in Ontario

Looking for a great weekend getaway or a romantic getaway in Ontario, then escape to the beach. Consider Crystal Beach Ontario, right on Lake Erie! Read on about my modern 3 bedroom cottage in Crystal Beach, great rates and availabily. This is a year round cottage for rent in Crystal Beach Canada.

This great beach is close to Niagara Falls, Fort Erie, and Buffalo NY, with great shopping. Check out www.crystalbeachcottagesforrent.com

Crystal Beach is located along the shores of Lake Erie, south of Ridgeway and Fort Erie. Originally the town was the site of an Amusement Park. When the park first opened in 1888 it’s patrons arrived by steamboat from nearby Buffalo, New York.

The park was famous for a most intense rollercoaster for it’s day – The Crystal Beach Cyclone, built in 1927. A full time nurse at the unloading platform tended to nauseous and unconscious riders. The ride was closed in 1946 but many of the materials were used in the construction of the Crystal Beach Comet, another famous roller coaster with a slightly less intense ride.

Following the park’s closing, the Comet was moved to Six Flags, The Great Escape & Splashwater Kingdom in Lake George, New York where it still operates today. The amusement park at Crystal Beach closed in 1989 due to high operating costs. The area where the Crystal Beach Tennis and Yacht Club, a private residential community stands is where the amusement park once stood.

In the early 1920’s Crystal Beach would be the home of a new dance pavilion. The Crystal Beach Ballroom housed a 3,500 sq metre maple floor that could hold up to 3,000 dancers at once.

The Ballroomt was so large that the orchestras and bands of the time performed on an octagonal stage dead center of the dance area.

Above the stage were eight curved-wood reflectors that directed the sound out toward the floor in order to have the music reach all areas.

Famous bands of that era to play Crystal Beach included Artie Shaw, Dorsey Brothers, Gene Krupa, Glen Miller, Guy Lombardo and his Royal Canadians, Les Brown, and Woodie Herman .……(from Ontario Tourism website)
